About Us

Through outdoor adventure, the Sacraments, and the teachings of the Church, Troop 29 helps fathers and sons grow in faith, virtue, and leadership.

Who we are

Troop 29 is a chapter of the Troops of St. George, a fraternal Catholic apostolate dedicated to forming men and boys into virtuous leaders through outdoor adventure, prayer, and service. Rooted in the traditions of the Church and inspired by the virtues of chivalry, we seek to cultivate faith, honor, and fraternity in every member. We believe that true leadership is formed not only through skills and knowledge but through a deep commitment to faith and virtue.

our mission

Guided by our motto, Virtus. Honor. Fraternitas., Troop 29 provides fathers and sons with the opportunity to strengthen their bond while growing in faith and character. Through challenging outdoor experiences, structured leadership training, and a commitment to the teachings of the Catholic Church, we prepare young men to be courageous and faithful in all aspects of life. We aim to develop men of integrity who will carry these values into their families, communities, and future vocations.

Core Experiences

At Troop 29, we offer a well-rounded experience that nurtures the mind, body, and soul. Through engaging outdoor activities, hands-on learning, and faith-centered challenges, we create opportunities for boys to develop confidence, resilience, and leadership while fostering a deeper appreciation for God’s creation and the values that shape their character.

Outdoor Adventures

We believe in the power of the outdoors to teach valuable life lessons. Through camping, hiking, survival skills, and other hands-on experiences, our members build resilience, teamwork, and camaraderie while learning to appreciate the beauty of God’s creation.

Faith Formation

Our troop is centered around our Catholic faith. We participate in Mass, the Sacraments, prayer, and devotionals to deepen our relationship with Christ. Our goal is to help boys become strong Catholic men who live out their faith in their daily lives.

Service Projects

Giving back is an essential part of who we are. Whether it’s assisting our parish, helping those in need, or engaging in local service initiatives, we encourage our members to embrace the call to serve others with humility and generosity.

Leadership Development

We believe that strong leaders are built through experience and responsibility. Our boys are given opportunities to take on leadership roles within the troop, helping them develop maturity, confidence, and a servant’s heart. Fathers also play a vital role, mentoring their sons and other young men in the troop to become responsible leaders in their faith, family, and community.
